This was a big year for West Marine, and along with reporting the number of new stores, higher
sales, and profits, they needed to re-emphasize their identity as a company of people who were dedicated to
boating.
So in addition to lots of photos of boats and boating, the details echoed a nautical theme. Tiny boats leave wakes to form financial charts. The page numbers are on small triangular navigational markers. Even the lineleaders in black and white charts are
wavy.
